We had a phenomenal time rocking Frenchmen street with Flowtribe after French Quarter Fest the other night.  Shortly thereafter, we found out that we are playing RIVERFEST in Little Rock this year!  We’ve been building a following in Little Rock for the last couple years, so we’re pumped about this one.  Check out the full line-up here

In other news, we’re joining forces with Mississippi Rail Co. on Cinco de Mayo for a night of cheap tequila and other debauchery at Cafe Prytania.  Swing by after Jazz Fest or the Superior Grill block party

Pensacola is just seeing more and more of us these days. We’ll be at the Sandshaker on May 11 for another 4-hour gig (that’s how they roll on the beach)

Writing to you live from 2012 after our last blast from the past came over 2 months ago, we would like to tell you that this is due to a hella bad New Year’s hangover (which we had), but in reality, we have been working our tails off in 2012 like it’s our last year here.

Here’s an update on what we have in store for everyone this year:

We kicked off 2012 in Starkvegas, MS at Dave’s Darkhorse Tavern with 300 of our closest friends. This was our first show with new friends Star and Micey (@StarandMicey) from Memphis whom you will be sure to see more of soon.

This weekend we’ll be playing in Lake Charles with our good friends Mississippi Rail Company (@missrailco) for a good old fashioned Saturday night throwdown.

This past week the band has been holed up in The Music Shed (@MusicShed) recording the new EP which we can not wait to finish and hand over to you.

And finally, how could we forget, the gran-daddy of them all, Mardi Gras. The Blue Party will be kicking off Carnival season Feb 4th on Frenchmen Street to celebrate Krewe du Vieux with Big History (@BigHistoryMusic) at The Maison. This show is FREE purely because we know you will be saving up for Mardi Gras libations.

Then, to cap off the wonderful phenomenon that is Mardi Gras, we will be playing Cafe Prytania (@CafePrytania) Feb 19th with old pals The Revivalists (@therevivalists) and folk super-stars Star and Micey.

From there, recovery will commence, and we will be back on the road shortly after. We hope to see all your beautiful faces somewhere down the line, but until then, fuck yeah.

Update: The Heartwalk raised $426,327! We’re very happy that we could play a part.

Ross originally left to pursue a jazz career in New Orleans.  He’s definitely still doing that but wants to get back to some touring and The Blue Party is always doing that.  Chris Cousins is 100% still in the family.  He’s heading to law school and subbing on gigs when needed.  We wish him the absolute best.

We’re headed to Nashville today for a show at the Five Spot and a little rock and roll vacation.  We’ll start posting our 2012 dates soon on our tour page, so stay tuned!
